Experience the working life of ICRAR’s astronomers, engineers and educators with a work experience placement. Our work covers many different areas, all related to astronomy and astrophysics, including computing and engineering.

During a work experience placement students will experience the variety of work ICRAR does and get a taste of what a day in the life of an astronomer/engineer is like.

How to apply for a work experience placement

ICRAR offers a limited number of work experience places for high school students, so you will need to submit an application, following the link below.

ICRAR is a diverse and welcoming workplace, and we specifically encourage young women and Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander students to consider joining us for our work experience program.

We run work experience programs for small groups of Year 10/11 students four times a year; in April, July and September during the school holidays, and during Term 4 in November.

Once you have submitted an application, it will be processed and you will then be notified about the success of your application.
