The rise and fall (and rise again) of NGC1275
Prof. Alastair Edge

September 1, 2016 – 3:00 pm – CASS lecture theathre (Curtin campus)

Recent observations have shown that the properties of the dense
intracluster gas cooling in the cores of clusters of galaxies are
significantly affected by AGN activity in the central brightest galaxy.
I will review these observations and focus on the most nearby example
of this AGN Feedback from NGC1275 at the core of the Perseus cluster.
