One of ICRAR’s projects to support teachers in the classroom is creating a suite of program resources to deliver astronomy focused lessons in the classroom.

 

Each lesson program will have a series of resources to assist teachers. These resources will include:

First available lesson – The Electromagnetic Spectrum

This lesson focuses on understanding the Electromagnetic Spectrum.

 

Students will learn about the electromagnetic spectrum by:

  • Working together to create a spectrum.
  • Exploring what light is and the relationship between wavelength and energy.
  • Listing through the different types of light and understanding their uses in our everyday lives.
  • Investigating images of celestial objects in different types of light and the application of the electromagnetic spectrum in astronomy.
