In light of the recent and ongoing Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement, particular attention has been drawn to issues of systemic biases and racism that are still experienced within academia. The International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) would like to express its solidarity with the BLM movement and the need to promote equitable and humane treatment for all people.

ICRAR continues its strong commitment to creating a working environment and culture that is inclusive and provides equal opportunities, irrespective of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, culture and origin. We strive to promote best practice inside and outside the organisation and a zero-tolerance stance to any form of racism or discriminatory behaviour.

Progress has been made world-wide to make the academic environment inclusive and diverse, but there is still work to do. Thus, the Development, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at ICRAR/UWA and the Development Committee at ICRAR/Curtin are actively working in these areas and are continuously looking into new, concrete actions to improve equity and inclusion in all our activities.
