Observations of a large number of radio pulsars have led to an improved understanding in the spin-down properties of the pulsars, the development of a pulsar-based time standard, the most precise estimate of the Jovian system mass and are now being used in the hunt for gravitational waves from supermassive black hole binary systems. In my talk, I will show how these topics are related and describe recent results from the Parkes Pulsar Timing Array project. I will describe our existing data sets, highlight some of the challenges that we currently face and demonstrate why we expect more exciting results in the near future.
