The WiggleZ Dark Energy Survey is a redshift survey newly completed at the AAT. Targeting UV-selected star forming galaxies, we have acquired redshifts for over 200,000 galaxies over a broad (and relatively high) redshift range z=0.2 to 1.2 (with a peak at z=0.6). Although designed to detect subtle features in the distribution of galaxies for use as standard rulers in cosmology, several other interesting tests of cosmology and of theories of gravity are enabled by the dataset as well.
I will present the latest results of our analysis of this unique dataset, highlighting throughout the role and importance of simulations in its analysis and interpretation.
Refreshments will be served following the seminar
