Public Lecture: Pioneers in Radio Astronomy

Dr Miller Goss is a radio astronomer at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in New Mexico. His scientific interests are radio astronomical studies of the material in space between the stars.

In this talk, Dr Goss will discuss Australia's involvement in radio astronomy. He will examine the life of Australian pioneering radio engineer and early radio astronomer, Joseph Pawsey, after whom the Pawsey High-Performance Computing Centre for SKA Science, under construction at Technology Park, is named.
