Work Experience

Experience the working life of ICRAR's astronomers, engineers and educators with a work experience placement.  ICRAR's work covers many different areas, all related to astronomy and astrophysics, including computing and engineering.  During a work experience placement students will experience the variety of work ICRAR does and get a taste of what a day in the life of an astronomer/engineer is like.

How to organise a placement

ICRAR offers a limited number of work experience places for high school students.  If you're interested in spending your work experience placement with ICRAR, send an email to education@icrar.org telling us why you'd like to come and what aspects of ICRAR's work you'd like to experience.

Past work experience placements

To see what a work experience placement at ICRAR might be like, read about the week from a student's point of view in our work experience blogs:

University students might be interested in our Summer Studentships program. Applications open in the second half of each year.
